PROJECT 37.png

Project 37. So named in honour of our much loved and respected friend and brother Paul Hutchison, who so embodied the spirit of our club and all we stand for.
Paul stood as an example of a loyal, and generous man and will forever more serve us as a moral compass that reminds us of what it means to be apart of the Bentleigh Community.
Project 37 is a provident fund and by definition stands to care and provide for the welfare of BFNC members and associates, business partners, sponsors or community members who may have fallen on unforeseen, desperate or difficult times.

HUTCHY #37

Paul James Hutchison

Paul Hutchison.PNG

Paul was a 300-game player with the Bentleigh Football Club who leaves behind a tremendous legacy at our club. Paul's precise kicking, elite fitness and tremendous work ethic over more than 20 years with Bentleigh was enough to make him one of the true greats of our club.
It was Paul's warmth, sense of humour, dedication, guidance and leadership that made him a true part of the Bentleigh fabric.
Among Hutchy's many titles at our club were best and fairest winner, Grand Final player, a captain and a coach. It was never an official title but he remains universally regarded as one of the toughest men ever to pull on a Bentleigh jumper.
More importantly, he was a giving soul who would impart wisdom to his teammates, actively look after younger players and on many occasions offer the hand of employment to young teammates looking to forge a career in the building industry or even simply work a few days labouring.
The Hutchison family will always be a part of the Bentleigh family and you will always be welcomed with open arms by everyone at Arthur St.
To our dearly departed mate in the number 37, we are shattered beyond words that we won't see your grinning face again. But your spirit lives on in every gut busting pre-season run, every ruthless pursuit of a contested ball and every loving commitment to a close knit family. No one showed the way in these pursuits better than you.
Take a rest Hutchy, and a peaceful one at that. God knows you've earned it.
