We headed down to Doveton to take on Doveton in an important final where the winner advanced to the Grand Final. The boys were incredibly switched on and ready to navigate any obstacle in their way. We started extremely well with ferocious and relentless pressure on the ball and opposition. Our goal kicking, albeit wet conditions, was our only flaw as we took an 18-0 lead into quarter time.
Doveton lifted in the second quarter and we failed to lift with them. However, we maintained a lead taking a 20-9 advantage at half time.
After the main break, we composed and continued to play Bentleigh football. Ultimately, the wayward goal kicking continued with the game finishing 4 goals 16 behinds, to 2 goals 6 behinds, winning 40-18.
We are extremely excited and proud to be playing in a Grand Final at Power Reserve in Doveton on Saturday 3rd September at 9:30am for our chance to achieve something special. No doubt the boys will produce a performance we will remember forever.
