What an amazing achievement for our Ones netball team to make the Grand Final in their first year playing together. Approaching the day, we were the in-form team of the comp, finishing 3rd on the ladder with a late charge home and coming off a winning streak including two strong finals wins. It was a well deserved spot in the big dance!
Caulfield Bears jumped us at the start with their 20+ years playing as a team showing early. Proud of our Bentleigh girls who fought their way back into it, dominating the 2nd quarter. We came out of the half time break believing we would run over the top of them in the second half but unfortunately, Caulfield were just the better team on the day.
With each player in our team putting in fantastic individual performances, one of them was officially recognised with Jade Snyman winning Best Player on the day! A major feat for the losing team to have the best player on the court – well done Jade!
Such a great atmosphere for our club to experience a netball grand final. The sheer enormity of the day gives us motivation to be there again next year, this time holding up the Premiership Cup.
