This week one of Bentleigh’s loudest and finest leaders, Steven ‘Gal’ Galileos will line up for his 150th match in the red & blue. Gala has been a product of the Bentleigh Juniors and came through our Under 19’s program, playing in 3 Grand Finals from 2011-2013 including a 2012 premiership. Gala has gone on to be a loyal, hard- working senior and reserves player.
His silky skills and big tank has made him a force across half back but his ability to run through the middle and sneak forward to kick a goal or 2 has added many strings to his bow. However, it is Gala’s fierce determination and competitive edge that has made him such a valuable member of the club, he always comes to play and brings his teammates along for the ride with him.
His preparation and professionalism is second to none. The discipline and resilience he showed to come back stronger from his ACL injury just truly exemplifies the character he is. Loud & proud, we love Gala’s contribution to the club, he is a Bentleigh person through and through and carries his on field form off the field too. His keen interest in mentoring and developing the Under 19 and Women players show what a true clubman he is. We look forward to many more games to come!
