Women’s Football wrap up | Round 3

Senior Women’s Football

Bentleigh (12.07.79) Vs. Murrumbeena (01.01.07 | Bentleigh Reserve

Sportsbet had Bentleigh strong favourites however the job still needed to be done. After the team warm up and coaches address the time had come to see how our fate would be decided with what was a very important game for us. We won the toss and went with the wind so it was very important we got off to a good start.

Our midfield was on top with Shannon, Jacquie, Jordy and Emma giving us 1st use of the ball and up ahead Christalee and Emily looking dangerous in front of goals however Zoe's 1st quarter was a real highlight having a huge influence in the game.

Emma Medland was tested at 3 quarter time for leather poisoning in a rare form of poisoning called Sherrinitis but was ok to continue. It was also Nicole's best quarter of footy as well and Sarah Radlow also played her best quarter of footy in the 3rd term as well.

Its not the margin or the scoreboard which tells the story, it could be argued that we were simply too good for the opposition but the way we moved the ball at stages throughout the game would have made it difficult for most opposition sides playing against us. We moved the ball cleanly at times, skillfully and we showed at times when our timing was right and our skill execution was good and when we played for each other that we can play some very good footy.
