Men's Football wrap up | Round 6

Senior Men’s Football

St.Kilda City (07.09.59) Vs. Bentleigh (06.11.47) | Peanut Farm Reserve

Our senior team travelled to the Peanut farm in St Kilda and had a narrow loss after a tardy and slow first half.

Down By 19 points at half time our boys had all the play in the 3rd quarter to manage just 1 goal 7 behinds.

The deficit was the same at ¾ time.

We fought the game out hard in the final quarter, and once again having all the play we could only manage 3 goals to eventually go down by 4 points.

Once we begin to capitalize on the opportunities that present to us, it is then that we will become a force in this competition.

Development Men’s Football

St.Kilda City (07.05.47) Vs. Bentleigh (06.05.41) | Peanut Farm Reserve

Starting to sound like a broken record but another disappointing & frustrating day for us losing by a goal for the third time this year. We dominated parts of the game but couldn’t shake off a persistent St Kilda team who kept finding a way to stay in the game. Ultimately a few poor skill errors and poor decision making cost us a victory. Some stand out performances from Snorta & Laskey still not enough to get us 4 points. Must regroup this week, have a big week on the track and come out firing against Mordi in what is a must win game now.

Under Nineteens Red

Mordialloc (04.06.30) Vs. Bentleigh (10.11.71) | Ben Kavanagh Reserve

A smart 4 qtr game by the 22 that played for Bentleigh Red.

Each and every player played their role in the side with adapting to the windy conditions. I was particularly pleased with our players ability to follow instructions and defend the game and ground really well in the 3rd term against the breeze. The tackling pressure and endeavour was excellent and it was great to see our group lead by Ross Barlas own their leadership opportunities with both our co-captains and vice captains not playing.

Under Nineteens Blue

Endeavour Hills (07.12.54) Vs. Bentleigh (05.13.43) | Barry Simon Reserve

Round 6 saw us learn a valuable lesson to never turn up to a game and expect to win with anything less than 100% effort. Slightly undermanned down in defence, our backs tried their best to stop Endeavour Hills and kick start our offence. However, despite multiple opportunities, we weren’t able to wrestle the momentum in our favour.
