2022 Round 9 Report (Football and Netball)

Senior

The senior side tracked to Cranbourne in what were some very trying conditions. Losing key players to illness prior to the game presented its problems.

Kicking with the aid of a strong breeze our boys couldn’t capitalise and kicked 6 behinds in the 1st qtr. Throwing everything we had at the top side after the first break, we held the opposition and found ourselves 14 points down at the final change. In the end, the experienced Cranbourne were too strong running out winners by 51 points.

Scores aside, it was a very commendable effort under extreme adversity and we look forward to turning around it around in the 2nd half of the season.

Senior debut :Ricky Frezza & Charlie Parkin (Under Nineteen)

Development

We headed out to Cranbourne coming off a good win to take on one of the top teams in what was shaping as a good tester for us.

As seems to be the trend plenty of changes again even losing Will Johnston 20 minutes before the bounce posed us a few challenges but the boys still had plenty of hope. Losing the toss and kicking against a howling wind the play was mainly down Cranbourne's end but we held off well only trailing by 4 goals at 3 quarter time.
