2022 Round 8 Report (Football)

Updated: Jun 4

We jumped out of the blocks kicking 5 goals to one in opening term and displayed our best footy all year. After being in front for the first 3 quarters, credit to Mordialloc who lifted their intensity in the final quarter and managed to get the points.

It was a great effort by our young boys, and we learn from it. We stick together and keep working hard and the turnaround is only around the corner.

We headed home to build on a great effort last week as we took on Mordi at home. The boys came out strong and never looked back. We kicked away in the first quarter with Will Johnston everywhere.

Second quarter was much of the same as our run and carry proved too much. In the last half with a comfortable lead, the boys look to make a point of our ball movement which we struggled with early. Plenty of switches and great inboard kicks carved apart Mordi as we ran away 70 off point winners.

Our under 19’s were great again giving us real speed and effort as they do every week. Young Jacob Clough stood out kicking 4, while snorta again along with Timm Black, Seb and johnno were among the best. Big test next week as we head out to the sticks to take on Cranbourne. Big game.

Round 8 vs Cheltenham at home.Another early start for the lads. Many quoting they don't get up this early for work.
